Digital Fusion Now Supports ILM's OpenEXR File Format FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, Ontario - January 23, 2003 - eyeon Software announced today that a plug-in supporting the file format OpenEXR, originally developed by Industrial Light & Magic, a division of Lucas Digital Ltd. LLC, is now available for Digital Fusion 4, eyeon Software's solution for 2D desktop compositing. OpenEXR is a floating-point extended dynamic range image file format that, until now, was proprietary to ILM. eyeon Software is pleased to be the first high-end desktop compositing application outside of ILM to offer support for OpenEXR.

OpenEXR is designed to work on GNU/Linux, OS X 10.2, and IRIX OS's, making it necessary for eyeon to port OpenEXR to the Windows platform. Steve Roberts, CEO and Technical Director of eyeon Software says, "In doing OpenEXR support, the eyeon development staff had to port from Unix to Windows. The fact that a port and plug-in are available one day after the release by ILM shows the commitment that eyeon has for digital film and post production."

Digital Fusion has full floating point color processing, making the integration and support of high dynamic range file formats a major feature for DF4 users, and ILM's OpenEXR format is seamlessly supported.

OpenEXR will be supported by the upcoming Linux release of Digital Fusion 4.
